The Bakery Room at 122 East 55th Street closes the day out, 10:30 PM to 11 PM, four ninety-nine against fifteen. It is the last window on the list, and it belongs to a neighborhood whose offices empty hours before the case does.

Put the five together and the city's markdown hour stops looking like an hour. It runs almost the full clock, from 10:10 in the morning in Queens to 11 at night in Manhattan, and it tracks each shop's own bake-and-close rhythm rather than any shared closing time.
