A city law that took effect in 2025 quietly raised the ceiling on what a delivery app is allowed to take from every one of those orders, from 23 percent to as much as 43. The tournament did not cause it. The tournament made it loud, because for four weeks the whole city was eating in front of a screen and paying an app to bring it.
