On July 17 Taylor Farms voluntarily removed iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico. The CDC says the recall covers lettuce sold at retail stores and lettuce served in restaurants. ABC7 New York reported the product went out to 27 states between June 29 and July 16. The notice carried brand abbreviations, some product descriptions and use by dates. It carried no retailer names and no restaurant names. Every kitchen in the country that buys shredded iceberg was handed the same instruction on the same day, which was to work it out for themselves.
